She and her husband Kim Hovorka own Generation Maps, an online genealogy chart printing service. She writes the Chart Chick blog (www.chartchick.com) and has recently started competing in triathlons.

In this poscast Janet tells us about Generation Maps and how to prepare to have your very own charts printed onsite at our upcoming Family History Expo. The Generation Maps' booth is always set up and ready to help you print out your working charts onsite and they have great samples of the decorative charts to help you make choices for heirloom products too. Keepsake PhotoArt was founded by Sue McCloskey, a digital imaging hobbyist with an intrinsic ability for restoring damaged "heirloom" photos for her family and friends. She currently works for a software development company in Southern Utah and is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals.

Sue has worked 40+ years in the Computer Industry from Californiaâs Silicon Valley to Iomega Corporation in Roy, Utah. In 2004 she completed a graphic arts course at Dixie State College and finished in the top 10% of her class. These skills have opened new doors towards artistic achievement in the challenging field of Digital Image Editing.

Inspired by a longing to assist other family historians with salvaging/restoring their precious photographic keepsakes, her mission is to âvisually authenticateâ your family tree with digitally restored heirloom photos.

She and Bill live with their three dogs in Southern Utah, where they enjoy the warm, dry climate and spectacular desert landscapes in and around Snow Canyon State Park, Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks.

Myrt's guest for the podcast is Gaylon Findlay who will be presenting at the upcoming Mesa Arizona Family History Expo, to be held 14-15 November 2008 at the Mesa Convention Center. This year's theme is "CyberExchange 101: Learn the tech to search your roots". President of Incline Software, Gaylon has created genealogy software for 14 years. He gave an earlier version of Ancestral Quest to the LDS Church to create the Windows versions of PAF 4 and 5. Gaylon served an LDS mission in Finland, graduated from BYU, and spent 13 years as a computer consultant in the San Francisco bay area.

GAYLON'S CLASSES

TITLE: Synchronizing PAF 5 data with New FamilySearch using Ancestral Quest
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Beginner-Advanced
DESCRIPTION: Learn how to connect, link, synchronize and supplement your PAF 5 data with data from New FamilySearch, and visa versa. PAF 5 was derived from Ancestral Quest, so PAF 5 users will feel right at home using AQ to be the bridge between their local data and the massive database on New FamilySearch. Guidelines will be given for preparing names for Temple Submission on New FamilySearch.

TITLE: Ancestral Quest 12. Features Beyond PAF 5
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Beginner-Advanced
DESCRIPTION: So you're used to PAF, and would like additional features. Learn some of the additional features in Ancestral Quest that can help you organize and maintain your PAF data. You'll learn how to use AQ to supplement PAF 5, or to replace it. We'll explore improved ways to record Sources, Research Items, New FamilySearch data, and more.

Holly T. Hansen, president of www.FamilyHistoryExpos.com (formerly MyAncestorsFound.com) joins Myrt to discuss the upcoming Mesa Arizona Family History Expo, to be held 14-15 November 2008 at the Mesa Convention Center. This year's theme "CyberExchange 101: Learn the tech to search your roots" will be presented by keynote speaker Don R. Anderson, Senior Vice President at FamilySearch.

CLASSES
The Mesa Family History Expo offers ten classes each hour featuring top-notch regional and national genealogy instructors. FamilySearch will sponsor 2 tracks of classes each hour, and Ancestry.com is sponsoring 1 track of classes each hour. Attendees may choose from special classes for beginners to advanced classes including topics for both US and non-US ancestry.
