Are You My Great Grandfather? DNA and Your Genealogy

(Beginner-Experienced) DNA has been used for several decades in fighting crime and researching diseases and heredity, but now can be used to verify relationships. Bob discusses the basics of DNA research, including the easy-to-understand terminology (chromosomes, genes, markers, alleles, haplogroups) associated with DNA results. He discusses different DNA tests and his personal involvement with DNA tests and results in correlating his ancestors with associated relatives. Several popular testing labs are mentioned, including surname projects and the international National Geographic Genographic Project.

(Beginner-Advanced) This software helps beginners through advanced genealogists in locating their ancestors. Bob discusses locating ancestors using this innovative and intelligent software that automatically searches many Web sites from your computer. This software could possibly be the last resort in locating those elusive ancestors. Bob discusses using the internal journal for tracking your research when researching out of town and how to prevent duplicating your genealogy research efforts.
