Holly's guest for this podcast is Janet Hovorka of Generation Maps. GUEST INFORMATION: Janet received a B.A. in Ancient Near Eastern Studies and a Master's degree in Library Science from Brigham Young University. She accepted teaching and library positions at BYU and Salt Lake Community College before having her three wonderful children. She and her husband Kim Hovorka own Generation Maps, an online genealogy chart printing service. She writes the Chart Chick blog (www.chartchick.com) and has recently started competing in triathlons. In this poscast Janet tells us about Generation Maps and how to prepare to have your very own charts printed onsite at our upcoming Family History Expo. The Generation Maps' booth is always set up and ready to help you print out your working charts onsite and they have great samples of the decorative charts to help you make choices for heirloom products too. While you can order your charts online and have them shipped it is always fun to go home with a nice chart under your arm. CLASSES: The full class schedule is available online today. Online paid pre-registration gives you access to the class handouts (syllabus) via the class schedule. Pre-registration cost is $45.00. At the door registration is $50.00. Lunch is included with the cost of registration for this expo. You will also receive a registration packet, name tag, CD syllabus, and a goody bag. Please pick these up when you check in at the event. For those wishing to receive their syllabus as a printed book there is an additional cost of $18.00 plus shipping, the syllabus in book format must be pre-ordered. Books will not ship until after the event. For your convenience we will have them available to pick up at the Expo if you are attending. EXHIBITS: The Exhibit Hall is open to the public at no cost. Come and check out the latest technology, books, software, and services. You will enjoy speaking with our exhibitors, trying out new software hands on before you purchase, you can even bring a digital file of your family history database and have wall charts printed while you wait. There is a lot of action in our Exhibit Hall come prepared to make purchases, ask questions, and have fun! Registered attendees will have opportunities to win prizes, attend classes each hour, and schedule free 20 minute consultations with professional genealogists.
