Episode 22 ~ Meet Tom Underhill of Creative Continuum

Myrt's guest for the podcast is Tom Underhill, from Creative Continuum, a presenter at the upcoming Mesa Arizona Family History Expo, to be held 14-15 November 2008 at the Mesa Convention Center. This year's theme is  "CyberExchange 101: Learn the tech to search your roots".

TITLE: 10 Things to do with Your Digital Camera
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Beginners
DESCRIPTION: Digital cameras don't work quite the same way as film, and understanding the differences ensures you can capture precious moments. This class goes beyond the point-and-shoot basics and extends to research techniques you can use from the genealogical library to the graveyard. Among other topics, attendees will learn methods to use a camera in place of a scanner, capture microfilm images, and maximize graveyard photography.

TITLE: The iPod and the Genealogist
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: All levels
DESCRIPTION: As the divide between old and new continues to widen, many of us wonder if we can connect with the next generation. How many of us truly understand the iPod Generation? Can we ever find something in common with them? The answer is an astounding "Yes!" This class teaches ways to integrate family history into the next generations, and methods to integrate the next generation into genealogy.

Classes
Pre-registration (through 1 Nov 2008) is $75 for the classes. Late registration is $90. At-the-door registration is $50 per day. You will receive a registration packet, name tag, CD syllabus, and a goody bag. Please pick these up when you check in at the event.  For those wishing to receive their syllabus as a printed book there is an additional cost of $24.95 plus shipping. Books will not ship until after the event. For your convenience we will have them available to pick up at the Expo if you like.

The exhibit hall is open to the public at no cost.
