Welcome to Episode 11 of the Family History Expos Genealogy Podcast series, with your host DearMYRTLE.

Myrt's guest for the podcast is Laura Best, from EchoRoad, who will be presenting at the upcoming Mesa Arizona Family History Expo, to be held 14-15 November 2008 at the Mesa Convention Center. This year's theme is  "CyberExchange 101: Learn the tech to search your roots".

Laura is CEO of EchoRoad, producing family history and genealogy products. The author of 5 books on preserving family memories and historic effects, Laura is a popular speaker at BYU’s Education Week and Genealogy conference. She enjoys working with the Boy Scouts and hospice patients bringing an appreciation to heritage.

TITLE: Preserving, Storing and Displaying Family Documents and Heirlooms without Harming Them
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: All levels
DESCRIPTION: From photos and marriage certificates to wedding dresses and military uniforms, the cherished possessions left from past generations should be cared for and protected for the next generation. Using the techniques suggested by the Smithsonian Institute and the National Archives we will discuss ways to preserve important family items. We will also show how to display these items in your home decor without compromising the integrity of the items.

Classes
Pre-registration (through 1 Nov 2008) is $75 for the classes. Late registration is $90. At-the-door registration is $50 per day. You will receive a registration packet, name tag, CD syllabus, and a goody bag. Please pick these up when you check in at the event.  For those wishing to receive their syllabus as a printed book there is an additional cost of $24.95 plus shipping. Books will not ship until after the event. For your convenience we will have them available to pick up at the Expo if you like.

The exhibit hall is open to the public at no cost.
