Episode 9 ~ Meet Devin Ashby of FamilySearch

Welcome to Episode 9 of the Family History Expos Genealogy Podcast series, with your host DearMYRTLE.

Myrt's guest for the podcast is Devin Ashby, from www.FamilySearch.org who will be presenting at the upcoming Mesa Arizona Family History Expo, to be held 14-15 November 2008 at the Mesa Convention Center. This year's theme is  "CyberExchange 101: Learn the tech to search your roots".

Devin Ashby is Project Coordinator for FamilySearch Indexing and has been involved in family history research for several years. In 2004 Devin received Bachelor degrees in History and Spanish and the following year earned a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.

DEVIN'S CLASS

TITLE: FamilySearch Indexing: Spanish-language Records
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: All levels
DESCRIPTION: Come and see the numerous indexing projects that are now available in the Spanish language, including the 1930 Mexican Census, the 1869 Argentina Census, as well as records from Spain, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. Web tutorials, guides, and free registration are all you need to get started with Spanish online indexing.

Classes
Pre-registration (through 1 Nov 2008) is $75 for the classes. Late registration is $90. At-the-door registration is $50 per day. You will receive a registration packet, name tag, CD syllabus, and a goody bag. Please pick these up when you check in at the event.  For those wishing to receive their syllabus as a printed book there is an additional cost of $24.95 plus shipping. Books will not ship until after the event. For your convenience we will have them available to pick up at the Expo if you like.

Exhibit Hall
The exhibit hall is open to the public at no cost.
