Genealogy Online for the First Time July 18, 2009 2:30 p.m. Geneva Room (Beginner) This well-illustrated PowerPoint presentation discusses the basics of genealogical research and the collection of family history information found on the Internet. From search engines, Family Search, and Google searches to Cyndi’s List, the National Archives, the Social Security death index and census records online, one can check for online vital records, find other family members online working on the same lines, locate immigration and naturalization records, use online guides to international genealogy sites, find census and vital records in country of origin, and even dig deeper for military records.

Keepsake PhotoArt was founded by Sue McCloskey, a digital imaging hobbyist with an intrinsic ability for restoring damaged "heirloom" photos for her family and friends. She currently works for a software development company in Southern Utah and is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. Sue has worked 40+ years in the Computer Industry from California’s Silicon Valley to Iomega Corporation in Roy, Utah. In 2004 she completed a graphic arts course at Dixie State College and finished in the top 10% of her class. These skills have opened new doors towards artistic achievement in the challenging field of Digital Image Editing. Inspired by a longing to assist other family historians with salvaging/restoring their precious photographic keepsakes, her mission is to “visually authenticate” your family tree with digitally restored heirloom photos. She and Bill live with their three dogs in Southern Utah, where they enjoy the warm, dry climate and spectacular desert landscapes in and around Snow Canyon State Park, Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks.
